Max Bridge used this test shoot as a chance to bring an idea to life that had been sitting with him for a while.

Shot entirely from his cosy home office, the project became a complete solo production. Handling every part of the process himself, from drinks styling and lighting through to shooting and retouching. Working in a compact space brought its own challenges, but it also encouraged a more inventive approach to shaping the light and refining the compositions.

A slightly ridiculous but very useful stash of fake ice played a key role in achieving that crisp, refreshing look without the pressure of melting cubes. Combined with a small mountain of Coca Cola, it gave Max plenty to work with as he developed the series.

The result is a playful set of images that balance polish with experimentation. And thankfully, the leftover Coca Cola didn’t go to waste. Much of it quickly found its way to family.
